Following up on extensive discussions in the 1st and 2nd Biology Teachers’ Meetings, IIB has decided to launch a Professional Development Programme for Biology Teachers in the region. This will initially include 1-day training sessions in a number of areas within Biology and Biotechnology that will happen at regular intervals during the academic year.
The objectives of the programme are:
1. Get familiarized with latest methods and recent trends
2. Get hands on experience with latest equipment and software
3. Develop knowledge about different tools and methods and their applications
4. Understand the scientific method, experimental design, data analyses and data representation.
Workshops under the programme will focus on broad areas of interest within biology and biotechnology, including but not restricted to Molecular Biology, Microscopy, Bioinformatics, Genetics and Biostatistics.
